The Leadership Development pin recognizes adult troop/group leaders, assistant troop/group leaders, or group coordinators who demonstrate competence, continuous improvement and participate in training in subject areas that will increase their skills in working with girls. The volunteer has completed one year in the leadership position, basic leadership I and II, attended two meetings outside of troop meeting, and either attended training themselves or recruited someone to be camp and first aid qualified.

Additional training of at least ten hours or one CEU is recognized with a green leaf, which can be attached to the Leadership Development pin. The ten hours may be completed at one workshop, course, or training event or represent hours of training accumulated at several events over a period of time. Five green leaves are replaced by one silver leaf. A silver leaf represents 50 hours or 5 CEUs of training. Five silver leafs are replaced by one gold leaf. A gold leaf represents 250 hours or 25 CEUs of training.

 

Outstanding

Leader

Award

 

 

The Outstanding Leader Award recognizes troop/group leaders, assistant troop/group leaders or group coordinators who performance in working with girls is outstanding that it merits recognition by the geographic or program delivery unit. The volunteer is a registered member GSUSA, has completed basic leadership I and II training, has demonstrated competence in girl/adult partnership, communication, membership development, pluralism, and program delivery. The work with girls has exceeded expectations for the position as outlined in the job description or agreement.

 

 

Thanks

Badge

 

The Thanks Badge recognizes an adult member whose performance is truly outstanding and benefits the total council or the entire Girl Scout movement. The service is so significantly beyond expectations no other award is appropriate.
Honor Pin

 

The Honor pin recognizes an adult member who has delivered outstanding service to two or more geographic areas or program delivery audiences.

 

Service Unit Recognitions

Leader of the Month

Is awarded to a Leader in Sleepy Hollow that has been nominated by other members of Sleepy Hollow. This is a leader who has gone beyond the call of her duties as a leader. Nominations can be submitted via E Mail to Sleepy Hollow or in writing to the Service Unit Team.

Green Angel

Award

 

Yearly, each leaders of Sleepy Hollow is given the opportunity to choose a Leader to receive the Green Angel Award. The leaders are to vote according to who they feel has been most inspiring, encouraging, and helpful to them as a leader.

Attendence

Sleepy Hollow likes to recognize the leaders that participate in the montly Service Unit Meetings. We feel that it is important that the leaders are there to hear all of the information that is given, there fore all leaders that miss 0 meetings will be awarded at the end of the Scout Year.(2 lates or leave earlies count as a miss)
